After a brief build up (NYC, Breitbart), President Donald J. Trump has been impeached for an unprecedented second time (AP, Al Jazeera). Twenty thousand National Guard troops are currently deployed to the District of Columbia, with several thousand stationed in the Capitol building in anticipation of further terrorist attacks from angry Trump followers (CBS). What happens next is unclear. After the last impeachment, Republicans refused to convict Trump for corruption, but this time they may be willing to convict him for his obvious sedition, especially now that they have less reason to fear him. Even if the Senate fails to produce 67 members with enough integrity to convict Trump, all they need is half, which they seem to have, to bar him from running again (Al Jazeera). And, as they say, enough is as good as a feast.
